So this is the start of something new.
I’m writing this post right now because I’m hoping to create $1K/day in income. Preferably, passive,
$1K/day feels like a good number to shoot for. Why, I’m not really sure. But it feels like a nice round number.
My goal with these posts each workday is to describe where I’m at, what I’m thinking about, what I made today, and any fears I have. So, let’s get started
What I made today (post tax):
Job: $129
UpWork: $557.25
KDP: $0.05
Medium: <$0.00
Total: $686.30
How I’m Feeling Today
Honestly, I’m scared shitless. A lot of this income is variable (UpWork) and it could go away in a second. It’s also incredibly volatile because some days will be way less and some days will be way more. Tomorrow is probably going to be significantly less.
The scarier thing is the bank account doesn’t look like anything that impressive, but I have a ton of big life expenses that are coming up in the future.
What I did today
I worked for one of my main UpWork clients, although it was difficult to complete what he wanted. I think there’s a real chance I lose this client, and I can’t really lose this client or I’m in a world of hurt!
I also applied for a bunch more jobs via UpWork. One got back to me about hiring me, but it wasn’t a great fit so I passed on that job.
My plan for tomorrow
I don’t have a ton of time this week to work, but I do need to find a way to get some work done. I’d love to have an affiliate website or two on top of this, as well as more books on KDP because I love to write.
However, I need more action here to get there. My plan for tomorrow’s post is to have finished another eBook (I currently have ~6) so there is more content out there that could help my kindle account.
Wish me luck!
About the Author & The $0-$1K/Day Case Study
Dean’s goal is to create $1,000/day in passive income through entrepreneurship. Too many people write “success porn” that skates over the struggles many face in entrepreneurship
The reason he writes brief posts here every day on Medium is to share his progress and his struggles. You get the unvarnished truth: what worked, what didn’t, and how much farther is there to go.
The hope is that this series of posts will inspire someone else out there to make their entrepreneurship dreams happen.
Dean Woods is currently a Marketer by day and an entrepreneur by night. Prior to his current job, Dean was a top performer at a top management consulting firm. Dean graduated with honors from The Wharton School.
