Man, yesterday was a good day.
In the case study post from yesterday, I talked about a big strategy shift that I had in mind. In short, I gave up a lot of pressure on myself and helped simplify down what I wanted to achieve.
In short, my fiancee helped me realize it was okay to push back the deadline to buy investment property, double down on paying off debt and taxes first, and relieve a lot of pressure on myself.
Removing that mental burden was great.
Yesterday was great.
I woke up, I made my fiancee pancakes and eggs and bacon for breakfast.
I did some work for my day job and some for my consulting, but nothing crazy. It was a good “break” day.
I’m going to get bored quickly and want to do more consulting. But, once I am bored, I need to channel that boredom into my business.
What I did yesterday to make $10K a day at 30
The current phase of the plan
I’m in Phase #1: The Job & Side Hustle Phase. You can read more about the phases and my plan to get to $10K/a day at 30 here.
Wake up & sleep:
I woke up at 5:27 am after going to bed at 11:58, for a total amount of sleep of 5 hours and 3 minutes.
As you would expect, my recovery was extremely low at 29%.
It was interesting though, I bounded out of bed at 5:30 in the morning and was feeling great. I didn’t really feel tired until later in the day, which was definitely outside the norm for a 5:30 wake up, at least during the quarantine.
I think this new strategy is a much better one.
I bought a Peloton, which will arrive in roughly 3 months. Either way, it’s long over-due from a workout perspective.
Other than that, not a lot. I had a strain score of 12.6, which is probably driven by general activity around the apartment.
I was at a 4/5, with 1 being the highest.
Blissful day, to say the lease
Diet was coffee, a huge smoothie, and nothing for dinner. 3/5 with 1 being the best.
My Day Job
A few calls, but nothing crazy
Investment real estate
We haven’t heard from either property manager, which is a bit of a bummer.
I hope we hear from them by tomorow. Otherwise, that means it’s been 3+ days without a response to our emails.
Again, business is about doing what you said you were going to do. Responding to emails should be table stakes, but for some reason, it’s really not.
My Actual Business
We’re in the process of moving. One thing that has been very clear in this process is how much of a hassle that is.
I think the hassle we’re feeling, and the realtor is feeling, shows a proof point for my business. I’m excited about it.
I have a few projects going on now.
I did two hours here
I haven’t heard back from these guys, and that’s okay.
I did a good amount of work here to button this up, with the expectation of finishing things up hopefully soon.
I was added to an invite for next week, but that’s it right now
Sourcing new work
I had a pitch call for a particular gig. I think I executed about a B-, largely because I didn’t go a good job building report with the client.
It may happen, but I think it’s probably 20% chance.

Nothing really here

The interesting takeaway here:
This is, by far, the most hours I’ve worked in any given day in a while. Perhaps all of the quarantine.
However, it was the least stressful day I’ve had in a long time.
Interesting correlation, right?
I think part of it is the strategy shift, and I think part of it is because I was up at 5:30.
Waking up early is a game-changer. It’s a few hours of work to get stuff done without people calling or emailing me.
I love doing it, and I haven’t been during the quarantine. I think I might need to do so again
