I saw this tweet yesterday. It’s a concept I’m started to believe in even more.
I believe wealth is fundamentally misunderstood. I think the media and press and publishing houses love to focus on the one in a million companies that goes from someone’s idea to make more money to Airbnb.
While these stories are amazing, and Brian Chesky is a personal icon of mine, stories about him and others distract from the true drivers of wealth for most people.
Look at this post.
Once you get to $10M+ in net worth, business interests start driving the largest source of your income.
The guy who is worth $30M isn’t worth that because he got a job at Uber early. The guy is worth that because he successfully runs a successful painting company.
I always thought I’d raise venture capital. I always thought I’d try to beat the odds and be the next Airbnb. Innovation is the goal, shoot for Zero to One.
Now, I’m grinding on consulting to save money to buy real estate. Then, I’ll grind on consulting and use that income plus real estate plus my job (if I still have it) to buy more real estate.
And buy businesses. I’m going to acquire businesses and grow them.
My life is different in that world. No crazy new and changing client basis.  My goal is the same each day: improve my businesses. Not, “try and solve my clients problem”
I don’t want to keep doing days like yesterday where I try to solve my client’s issues all day.

Yesterday there were 1,544 days until I turn 30 and need to make $10K a day passively. Here’s how I spent yesterday in pursuit of that goal

Dean Woods

Dean Woods

Dean’s goal is to create $10,000/day in passive income through entrepreneurship. Too many people write “success porn” that skates over the struggles many face in entrepreneurship. His goal is to create something real that highlights the lack of sleep, disappointment from family, and setbacks you really face in entrepreneurship. The hope is that $10K a day swill inspire someone else out there to make their entrepreneurship dreams happen. Dean Woods is side hustling and working a full time job to kickstart his entrepreneurial path. Prior to this life, Dean was a management consultant. Dean graduated with honors from The Wharton School.
