What I did today
Today was very focused on my day job. In fact, I spent very little time working on side work. It’s almost 9 pm as I write this and I’ve yet to really get started with any work on the side.
It’s always a difficult balance. I absolutely love the idea of doing only my side work because then I can get a lot more done and increase my productivity.
However, that’s not realistic for a lot of reasons:
- I actually love my day job. The work is, for the most part, interesting
- There are people there who are great to learn from
- I have a good, stable salary and benefits
In other words, it makes a lot of sense not to leave my day job.
On the other hand, all of the literature in the world says that you need to “burn the ships” and go after your dreams full time.
One day, I will do that. That day also isn’t that far away. But for right now, I have several loved ones in my life that need a stable income and benefits. I need more consistency in my income before I go in that direction.
So, that still has left me at 9pm, with no side work yet done but a bunch more to do.
Tonight, I need to create a few slides. In practice, that should take an hour or two. I also should post a few articles on one of my affiliate sites to help build that site up!
What I’m thinking about today
I’m thinking about investing in health. Last weekend was the super bowl, so I ate like shit. I need to do more to make sure my life is in good shape.
For that reason, I joined a local yoga studio today. I’m not a yoga person at all, and I’m incredibly inflexible, but I think this is a good first start to help ensure I live a happier and healthier life.
How I’m Feeling Today
I’m tired now, as I normally am at the end of the day. It’s my daily reminder that eating healthy and going after it at the gym is the best way to do it.

Lots of Yoga, but a good day
