What I did today
Today was a busy as hell day. I actually didn’t intend for it to be that busy. I had two large projects to work on, both for clients who are supposed to pay more than $1,000 for the project.
So, I planned to work exclusively on their stuff today.
And now it’s 8pm and I actually haven’t even gotten to their stuff yet. Shit.
It’s actually a good thing, because I had new and old clients both pop up and hire me for work. I sold and completed $112.50 of work to an existing UpWork client. I completed an hour of consulting for an Amex card.
I also sold a project for $500 on Catalant that should take no more than 5 hours of work so it should end up being a great engagement. I also sold a one-hour coaching call for $125/hour.
So, it was a productive day in terms of sales. However, I’m now at 8pm at night and I have a ton of more work to do for those other two clients. I’m expecting I have ~3–5 more hours of work. I’m loading up on coffee, and I’m blasting “FYI” by Casadee Pope on my earphones. It’s catchy as all hell.
This is going to be a long night. Yesterday was really long too. But I don’t know any other solution than to keep pushing forward.
I love my people too much to not. I have no other option but than to keep pushing.
What I made today
One-off consulting: $200 Amex card
Today’s pro-rated amount of monthly expenses
$228.50, of which I’m restricted on how I can spend $200 as it’s a pre-paid Amex card.
How I’m feeling today
Well, I’m feeling pretty good now with this music pumping and drinking my favorite coffee. It’s also pretty late though so I’m a little apprehensive with what the rest of my evening will look like.
I said it before: I love my family too much to quit right now.
I really want to go to bed. But, I can’t do that. Let’s keep working, team.
I have one month’s of expenses in the bank…
My plan for tomorrow
So I have to be up tomorrow morning at 7am and I’m targetting a 2–3am bedtime. I’d love to take tomorrow off and not push too hard, but one of my big clients (one of the $1,000+ ones) is expecting a meeting on Thursday morning. I need to send him a powerpoint tomorrow night as a read-ahead.
So, I’m going to keep pushing here to make sure that the meeting goes really well. If I’m lucky, I’ll get to sleep in a bit and make something happen from there. If I’m unlucky, then I’ll figure it out as I go through it.
We’re going to make this happen. The struggle right now is just tiring and lonely. ~2–3 more years straight of this, and I hope I’ll be in a better spot.
