What I did today
Today was not a great day from an income perspective but was an okay day from a forward-looking perspective.
I spent time today working on business development to bring in new business that could hopefully be worth a substantial amount of income.
For example, I spent most of today working on trying to sell a project that is going to end up being worth $10,000+ for a month’s worth of work. That would be HUGE if it comes through. I know they interviewed three people, and are hiring two, so the odds are in my favor.
But, we’ll see.
I also spent time selling other kinds of work as well. I did sell a project for $1,000 that shouldn’t be too difficult and would take a week’s worth of work. We’ll see what ends up happening there.
I also wrote a few posts on Medium too! I wrote one about The Only Question a Business Should Consider, which (very exciting!!) got picked up by The Startup!!
Another one was about how Amazon is pissing money away on a foolish expense.
In practice, I probably shouldn’t be writing those kinds of posts of Medium. They take a while and don’t add any income at all, but they are fun to do and I hope they add value to someone else’s life. I’m fortunate to have graduated from the number one business school in the world, but that cost a lot of money.
The writing here though is free, and hopefully captures how my professors back at Wharton would describe that topic. The hope is my writing is a free way to get a window into how they think about business questions.

My plan for tomorrow
Not a great day on the negative front! My plan for tomorrow is to see what I can do to help get income going in the right direction. A big part of that, for sure, is going to be doing some work for a recurring client that involves writing.
Wish me luck!
About the Author & The $0-$10K/Day Case Study
Dean’s goal is to create $1,000/day in passive income through entrepreneurship. Too many people write “success porn” that skates over the struggles many face in entrepreneurship
The reason he writes brief posts here every day on Medium is to share his progress and his struggles. You get the unvarnished truth: what worked, what didn’t, and how much farther is there to go.
The hope is that this series of posts will inspire someone else out there to make their entrepreneurship dreams happen.
