What I did today
This case study is about how to go from $0 to $10K/day in income before the age of thirty. I know exactly how many days I have until I reach 30. I write it down as soon as I wake up every morning.
It’s fair to say that this case study is very financially driven. The name literally has dollar signs in it.
But, here’s the thing. I actually don’t really care about money.
What I care about is freedom. I care about the ability to wake up when I want, where I want. I want to make my family breakfast. I want to do my passion (real estate). I never want to miss a soccer game or any event that my kids are in.
The only way I know how to do that, in today’s society, is with money. If I have money, then I can afford to do all of those things.
But, focusing on money is the wrong mentality.
I know plenty of people who have the “I want to make as much money as possible” mentality. I knew a few back at Wharton actually, which makes sense as Wharton is the top business school in the world.
But, even the top business school in the world has to have someone graduate at the bottom of class.
The people who had the “I want to make as much money as possible” were undoubtedly the least competent people in all of Wharton. They were a joke. They told themselves they were “investment bankers”, but really were in support roles at Goldman Sachs.
Said differently: if you tell me your goal is to make money, then I’ll tell you if you’ll succeed (short answer: you won’t).
How does that reconcile with your case study? Are you really telling me that people who want to make money won’t succeed?
I’m telling you that people who want money for money’s sake won’t succeed. If you want money because you want to tell everyone you’re the best, then you 100% will not get it.
Every wealthy person I’ve ever met, including every billionaire, did not want money. However, they all expected money.
The reason why is money often follows people who make a dent in the universe.
The people who make serious money are the ones who try to add value to the world, then they get paid for delivering that value.
Bringing this back to the beginning: I don’t want to make money. I want to deliver value to people, and I expect to make money for delivering that value.
As a consultant, my time is worth hundreds of dollars an hour. The only reason why I’m worth that is because I deliver more value than that. I recently stopped a company from buying another company for >$200M.
That other company was a lemon. There was a fundamental problem with it, and it was going to zero.
So, my client paid me a lot of money for that advice. But, it saved them $200M. That’s value.
When all of my websites are going, I’ll have literally millions of people reading my content each month. These sites will provide helpful information to these readers about different products, for which I’ll make $50,000 for adding that value.
My fiancee and I provide safe, clean, quality housing to dozens of families. We’re adding value there, and we get paid rent for doing so.
Focus on adding value, then money will follow. Freedom will then follow after the money.
Wake up & sleep:
Less sleep today and not a ton of recovery. My fitness tracker says I went to sleep at 1:05 am and I woke up at 8:33, for a total of 6 hours and 44 minutes asleep. Not great numbers and my recovery reflected it with only 29% recovered.
No exercise today after going for it yesterday!
Coffee in the morning, protein shake, and a frozen pizza for dinner. It wasn’t super healthy, but it’s harder to eat healthy during the virus time.
My Day Job
Sunday-no day job. I did find out that I’m not going to be laid off based on an inter-company memo sent out.
Investment real estate
Very little action here. It’s my goal to get as many units as possible as quickly as possible.
No action here today.
